* Not available at this time.
There are places and experiences only reserved for the very few. Only 12 human beings have left this world to stand on the Moon. A very few people have had the experience of plunging two and a half miles into the North Atlantic to visit the most famous shipwreck of all time, the RMS Liner, Titanic. Unattainable until now, this is the ultimate adventure. Voyager Worldwide, in striving to bring the finest experiences to our performance incentive clients, offers this unique dive adventure.
Aboard the Russian research ship Akademik Keldysh you will be introduced to the world of Deep Submergence Vessels. Mir I and Mir II are state-of-the-art submersibles each capable of diving to depths of 20,000 feet. Accommodating three persons, you are diving in one of four DSVs in existence capable of reaching these great depths.
Diving together, Mir I and Mir II take two and a half hours falling to Titanic, and spend two to three hours exploring the site. You will experience the massive size of the ship, its 999 ton reciprocating steam engines and poignant reminders of the human tragedy strewn across the debris field lying between the main hull and aft section, some 1500 feet apart. Captain Smiths porcelain bath tub is visible through the crumbling walls of his cabin. Your visit will be chronicled by an array of still and video cameras, both internally and externally mounted to Mir. A maximum of 16 divers per expedition can be accommodated.
You will be immersed in the planning for your dives, learning about the Mirs, tracking, and navigation and diving operations. Life aboard the Akademik Keldysh is an experience where you become immersed in the process of mounting a major expedition to such a deep shipwreck.
Not for the claustrophobic, dives to Titanic and other similar expeditions represent your chance to be part of a very exclusive club and witness to some of historys most compelling maritime tragedies. Other deep sea adventures include dives on the German battleship, Bismarck, the HMS Breadalbane, North Pole diving and tropical diving on Bikini Atoll.
